Vers une Silicon Valley chinoise?

Alors que le découplage des économies américaine et chinoise s’intensifie, le «leadership» américain dans plusieurs technologies est sérieusement remis en question.

 

Début 2019, l’embargo américain sur Huawei a accéléré cette séparation. Par cette sanction, la Maison Blanche a voulu affaiblir le Chine mais elle n’a fait que renforcer la volonté de l’Empire Du Milieu de développer leur capacité d’innovation et de devenir une superpuissance technologique. L’objectif, qui n’était au début qu’un but à long terme, est devenu une priorité absolue pour le gouvernement chinois.

 

On estime que la Chine a un retard de trois à cinq ans par rapport aux leaders américains sur les puces électroniques. Cependant, grâce à d’importants investissements et à l’augmentation des dépenses de recherche et développement, le pays est déterminé à établir un réel écosystème autour des semi-conducteurs avec une production autosuffisante (non dépendante des Etats-Unis) à chaque étape du processus de fabrication.
